Polly Thompson is the dynamic owner of a unique bridal shop in Wimbledon, south west London.
Nabbd, which stands for Not Another Boring Bridesmaid Dress, is an independent business totally dedicated to designs and accessories for bridesmaids. Thompson set up the shop after she had trouble finding the right dresses for her own bridesmaids when planning her nuptials.
Initially set up online only, Thompson decided to expand into a high-street store when she realized women wanted that friendly, personal experience.
When Polly needed small business funding to secure her new Wimbledon premises, she struggled to find a suitable lender. Then a friend recommended Fleximize, which saw the potential in Thompson's wonderful business and lent her £10,000 over 16 months. Since then Thompson has topped up her loan twice to expand her range of dresses.
