If you think building a business feels like running a marathon, you might appreciate what angel investor, Adam Knight, goes through each time he embarks on a 24-hour endurance race.
His racing may be exhilarating and glamorous – the ideal sporting choice for an ambitious London-based investor – but there are also major parallels with entrepreneurship: the ambition to be the best in your field, possession of a killer strategy, ability to handle unpredictability, precision judgement and boundless perseverance.
These shared factors makes Fleximize a perfect partner for Adam, says Max Chmyshuk, Founding Partner at Fleximize. The small business lender is sponsoring him as he races in the 24HR International Endurance Series in Dubai between 14-16 January, in a Lotus Evora GT4. Max adds:
Fleximize is thrilled to be sponsoring Adam, as he participates in this weekend's 24H Dubai. As a pioneering fintech company, supporting Adam in this exciting sport works perfectly with our own driven and dynamic approach to helping small businesses. We wish Adam the absolute best as he takes on hot competition from around the globe on the track.Max Chmyshuk, Fleximize
Adam started racing in 2012 after he traded in his Porsche for a family-friendly Volvo and an old Lotus Elise, which he converted into a racing car and drove in the Lotus Cup UK Production class. He then moved on to the Supersport class, racing a Lotus Exige V6 Cup vehicle.
The 24-hour endurance racing is reaping rewards – Adam won the 2014 Lotus Cup UK Supersport Championship and can be seen competing at Silverstone, Snetterton, Donington Park, Oulton Park, Rockingham, Barcelona 24HR and Spa Francorchamps in Belgium.
In his professional life, Adam is the co-founder of Social and Sustainable Capital – a fund manager specialising in investing in organisations with a social focus, and he's an investor in Fleximize.
